Employee Spotlight: Nancy McEntee, Clinic Nurse

Can you describe your role at Fertility Centers of Illinois?

I am a clinic nurse in the Highland Park office and currently work for both Dr. Marut and Dr. Rodgers.

How long have you been with FCI?

I have been with FCI a little over 3 years.

What made you decide to work in fertility?

I came to FCI and fertility after leaving my prior job of 26 years as an OB/GYN practice manager and phone triage nurse. I wasn't specifically looking for a job in infertility, but the connection to OB/GYN made the transition easier.

What do you love about your role?

The team of professionals that I work with and the patient contact are the best parts of the job.

What is your proudest moment at FCI?

Giving bad news is always tough, but the belief that there will eventually be good news for the patient makes the job possible.

Did you experience infertility when growing your family?

I went through low technology fertility treatment for my first child. Technology was limited and ultrasound was not in use at that time.

What is a quote that inspires you?

“This too shall pass, the best is yet to come.”
