I was diagnosed with unexplained infertility. Now I’m a mom.
Why do you want to share your story?
I’ve always been open about our journey and it helped me along the way to hear others’ stories and have people to talk to who understood what we were going through.
How would you describe your experience with your physician?
Though we didn’t meet with Dr. Christopher Sipe that many times along the way, when we did he was always very easy to talk to and explained things in ways that helped us to understand what was going on. We had a very positive experience with him.
What infertility treatment did you undergo?
We tried IUI a few times and ultimately went to IVF. It was a long, hard road but the shots got easier as we got more experienced! Our first round of IVF was canceled after stims due to low follicle count but the second round was successful and our single embryo transfer stuck.
What helped you through treatment?
This was such a physically and emotionally stressful time, especially with Covid making things even more complicated. Some things that helped me get through were support from my partner, having some friends to talk to who also went through IVF, practicing yoga, meditation, and doing things that made me happy such as listening to my favorite music and taking walks with the dogs.
Do you have any words of wisdom for others?
It’s easy to say it was all worth it once you’ve gone through it, but in the thick of it just remember you are tougher than you think you are! Go easy on yourself and be proud of yourself for all that you’re doing to make your dream a reality.
Tell us about your little miracle!
Our little miracle baby girl was born in January 2022 and she is the light of our lives! She loves her fur siblings and has so much personality already. We hope to be so blessed as to have a second baby in the future and would definitely go back to Dr. Sipe!
