What fertility treatment did you undergo?
My OB had me try Clomid and when that wasn’t working, she referred us to FCI. I had one intrauterine insemination (IUI) and then two rounds of in vitro fertilization (IVF). I also had to take progesterone injections and blood thinner injections every day during the first trimester when I became pregnant to try and prevent a miscarriage.
What helped you get through treatment?
My husband and the FCI staff helped me get through all of my treatments. My husband went to every single appointment with me for support and was always there for me. I was an emotional wreck and he always knew the right thing to do or say to help me feel better. The FCI staff was also amazing. Every day I walked through the door and they would always greet me with a smile. The staff, nurses and doctors answered all of my questions and were always so kind and patient with me. They truly are amazing.
How would you describe your experience with your physician?
Dr. Brian Kaplan is amazing! After seeing a few other doctors he was the first doctor that we met with that answered all of our questions and I left his office feeling confident and hopeful for the first time. He truly cares about each of his patients. Dr. Kaplan is the best!
Tell us about your little miracle!
Our little miracle is Piper and she will be 2 in December. She is the most amazing little girl and brings us so much love and joy. She is always smiling and loves exploring new things. It is crazy how fast these past 22 months have gone by and we cherish every single day with her. We feel so extremely blessed and we love her with all of our hearts!
Do you have any words of hope for others?
Please don’t give up. It took us many years and those years were some of the darkest times for us. I was determined to have a child and it is worth every single thing we went through and I would do it all again. Please remember you are not alone during this process.
