Q & A with Dr. Rapisarda:
What is your approach to medicine?
I want the people I work with to feel that they have been cared for and treated with compassion and respect regardless of the outcome.
What do you like most about what you do?
I love seeing all of the babies we have helped to bring into this world and their happy parents whose lives have been enriched by our efforts.
In practice what are you most proud of?
High success rates even with very challenging circumstances.
Why did you choose to work in the field of reproductive medicine?
Family has always been the most important part of my life. I wanted to be able to assist others who were having difficulty adding to their family so that they too could share in this wonderful experience.
What do you consider your special areas of interest in reproductive medicine and why?
I am particularly interested in PCOS because it is a fascinating condition that is very common and often a challenge to treat effectively. I am also very interested in assisted reproduction such as IVF because of the dramatic advances that take place on a regular basis in this technique. There is a vast array of options for people to become pregnant and have a child. The advances in this area have been dramatic in a very short time frame.
Share something unique that most people don’t know about you.
I used to be a gymnast, but I wasn’t very good.
What do you do for fun in your spare time? What are your hobbies?
Reading, fixing things, traveling, gardening and hiking.
